Email Link Tracking for Gmail

Vero automatically tracks links in the Gmail messages you choose, then shows which destination was opened and the strongest available context behind the click.
From your draft to the click report.
- Write your email in Gmail. Include your proposal, document, or booking URL as linked text or a plain web address.
- Turn on Vero before sending. Eligible links are prepared automatically. The message has no Vero badge or signature.
- Review activity. A tracked link passes through Vero before opening its destination. Check the extension dashboard or enabled email alerts.
A click tells you the link was requested. It does not prove a proposal was read, a document was downloaded, or a meeting was booked.
What the report tells you.
Start with the destination and time, then use the available context to decide whether a follow-up would be useful. These are report fields, not a reader identity check.
- Destination and time
- Which tracked link was requested and when the activity reached Vero.
- Device and browser
- Available device and browser information inferred from the request. Some browsers expose less detail than others.
- IP and network
- The public IP and network or ISP when available. A shared office connection or VPN can represent many people.
- Approximate location
- Network-based location, not GPS or a street address. It can describe a gateway rather than the person clicking.

Why a direct click carries more context.
Open tracking depends on a mail client loading a tiny image. Gmail, Apple Mail, and Outlook may fetch that image through a mail image proxy, which can hide the recipient's device and network. A genuine link click reaches Vero from the browser instead.
That direct request can reveal the device, browser, IP, network, and approximate location when available. Vero keeps known security scanners separate so an automated check is not presented as a confirmed recipient click.
VPNs, privacy relays, shared networks, and unidentified scanners still limit what can be inferred. An IP address cannot identify a person, and a different device does not prove your email was forwarded. Read more about email tracking limitations.
Follow up with something useful.
Proposal follow-up. If a prospect clicks your proposal link but does not reply, offer to answer questions about the scope. A click is a reason to be helpful, not evidence that they agreed to buy.
Recruiting. A click on a role brief or calendar link can help you choose a relevant next message. It does not confirm an application or booking.
Client documents. See whether a link to shared files received activity. Use the document service itself when you need confirmation of access, a signature, or a completed download.
